Is Portfolio Slideshow Pro Plugin Supported (Compatible with) by Striking Theme?
  • Hello, I'm having a bit of a problem with the way in which Portfolio Slideshow Pro Plugin acts within the Striking Theme. The thumbnails act a bit weired and a couple of them disappear and reappear. Not the type of slideshow I was looking for :) the link to the page is as follow and you're welcome to test it out:

    http://www.starwisdomteaching.com/WordPress/starheart-garden/galleries/gallery-of-paintings/

Anyway, I tested the site using other browsers like FireFox, Google Chrome, and Opera and the slideshow was fine. so i thought maybe the problem was with Safari. But when I activated the TwentyEleven theme the slideshow worked fine even in Safari. So I'm sitting here scratching my head and waiting to see if you can shed some light on this issue.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Paul,

Turning on the Use complex css class did NOT make any difference.
As to the other loaded theme being loaded, I have no idea where it might have come from, how i git it there, or how to get rid of it??????

    Even more baffled now,

  • Thank you for your time and attention. Would you please get back to me with Kaptinlin's thoughts?

  • Hi

A few misc thoughts for your info:

The plugin is going to work fine with Twenty Ten/Eleven, as they employ no java, so there is nothing to conflict.

I would suggest trying to wrap the slider shortcode with the Raw tag to see if that resolves the issue.

You do indeed have the stylesheets from more then one theme loading. Not sure how that happened, but it can be problematic in itself.

We will check to see if we have accounted for the latest versions of Safari, as if I understand correctly, it is only in Safari that you are having this issue. Not much of our audience - or any other, uses this browser, but we do like to keep it up to date. But be advised that this will not be immediate. Our thoughts right now are to potentially release a small update dealing with misc code fixes in about 2-3 weeks or so. Please advise the version of Safari in which you experienced this behavior.

    Best Regards

  • Hi James - I don't know if you still remember me, but I'm Toby and I work with Cheryl on her site. Thank you for your response, however, the slideshow issue has now been resolved. We deleted the slide show in question and reloaded new ones in other pages and we 're very happy with how they look.

I am concerned however about the stylesheets from more than one theme loading. How can I fix this problem. we only want to use the Striking theme. I don't even know how this may have happened. Is there anything you can teach me to resolve this issue?

    Thanks,

    Toby
