Blog Pagination in Portfolio Item
  • Hello,
I'm trying to list several blog posts in a portfolio item and have run into a problem. I can list posts using the "blog" shortcode, but the pagination will not show up. If I take the same code and throw it in a "page" it works just fine. Is this a known limitation of the portfolio item?

    Portfolio Item w/ Blog Shortcode:

    Page w/ Same Blog Shortcode

    Thanks!

  • Hi Eric,

I think the blog pagination will conflict with the portfolio pagination. Are we talking about a single portfolio page without pagination?

  • Hi Paul,
Yes. I don't see a need for this outside of a single portfolio item. I use portfolio items heavily for "core" pages of my site and I would just like to include a listing of blog items on some of these portfolio items. There wouldn't be any scenarios where two different paginations would need to exist on the same page.

  • Hi Eric

We never coded Striking so that one could implement pagination of blog items in a portfolio post. I can actually say it is the first time we have had any such mention of this requirement. The ability is not in Striking at this time.

I will have to advise back as to whether we can implement this. I have to confess I am not understanding why you don't use a normal page for this - you can easily (unless I am misunderstanding something and forgive me should this be the case) display your portfolio item either at the top of the page or first in the page content, and then display your blog content with pagination.

You are welcome to pm me should you want to discuss the matter further.

    Best Regards

  • I sent a PM with more details if it helps. We'll just work around this. Thanks for the help and taking a look.
