To insert code use
...
.
I am having a favicon upload problem and need some assistance....
  • HI

    clearly having a senior moment

IN general I normaly see the option to

Paste the full URL (include http://) of your custom favicon here, or you can insert the icon through the button

I then use the button, browse to my desktop select etc etc and when I return to General I see the url to the favicon displayed

however using the latest version on my local host I see no box to paste into and if I do it via file selection nothing appears to be written to the site

    Any ideas?

    thanks

  • Hi Ian,

i have no clue. In my striking the url is not even displayed but the image shows in the browser.

I will make a note and ask kaptinlin to take a look at this when we speak.

You can only insert the favicon by the button. There is no text field anymore.

use 16x16 px. There are many image favicon generators on the internet.

    Best regards,

  • I would like to follow up and ask if any way to set expire header on fav.ico.
It was mentioned in a webpage speed test that it was not cached or had far reaching expire headers for fav.icon
  • Hi,

You can try use 'from url' tab when click on 'insert image' button.

  • Hi

I'm having the same problem. I tried using the 'from url' tab and it didn't work. It recognized the url file, but didn't recognize the title and when I hit "Use This" nothing happens. Are there any other updates by chance?
