I have just found that Twitter is being slow to respond (what's new?) and it seems that while the theme waits for Twitter to respond ("Loading Tweets"), it delays the load of some other elements, in this case, some iframe embedded content.
As you could have read by now twitter was under a ddos attack. There is no way prevent this in the future? It is sad that someone tries to wreck the system.
Yes, what I meant is that the code that fetch the tweets could be programmed to stop loading earlier if there's a problem, or use some AJAX that doesn't make the page look like it's still loading :)
Regretfully, there are no plans to have Striking include a timeout function for twitter. We are releasing an update shortly to take care of residual errors, but our focus on Striking for the next while is improvements to the help fields within the admin and videos.
We are seeking to set the code for Striking at this time so that our user base can have a period of update stability (per many many user requests) allowing the user base to focus on using the existing features in Striking to their maximum potential.
