Use html img tag with link without using shortcode and popup launching
  • <a href="http://www.vk.nl"><img src="striking.jpg" width="219" height="165" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-278" /></a>

Is there a way to use normal html for adding a link to an image. When I add a link to a normal image tag there`s a popup launching leading you knowhere.

Tried using the img shortcode but thimtumb messes up my JPG.

    Thanx

  • Hi Chewie,

The popup comes from the default settings in the theme. If you want images to popup in lightbox set to on this is what is happening to your link.

So walk through you default theme settings.

And turn timthumb off and clear cache on. Leave timthumb off you don't need it any more.

  • Thank you very much that worked!

I have another question about this page: http://www.amstelonline.nl/?page_id=39
When you click on the Featured Image of a Portfolio Item the popup launches here. Is there an option to make the featured image link automatically to the portfolio item detail page (no popup launch anymore)?

    Thanx Chewie
  • HI

I just want to confirm, what you want is that when one is on that portfolio page, right now if they click on the portfolio image, it launches the lightbox, whereas you wish it instead to bring them to the single portfolio post itself, correct?

Unfortunately, this does option is not available for portfolios. It was added once upon a time for blogs (you will see it in the blog general settings) but your request is a first for portfolios - in fact we always had the opposite request.

So I am sorry, but the feature is not there at this time.

  • James,

No problem I am building a site locally for a client who wanted it to work this way. But personally I think the way it works right now is very nice. When this site for my client is going LIVE I will buy another license for Striking at Theme forest for the clients domain.

    Greets,
