The tagline is being clipped at the bottom (see the letter 'g' in Remodeling). Is there a CSS customization I can apply to fix this issue? I've tried a couple things, but can't seem to discover a solution. I'm a new user of the Striking theme, but I would think this might be a easy fix. I'm having this issue in both Firefox & Safari.
Can you goto the font settings and set the logo desciption size to 12px and see if that brings back the "g" in the logo description?
The problem is caused by the use off cufon fonts you can easily switch to a equivalent fontface or a google font and the problem will be solved i guess.
Great decission !! I did a long time ago. About in the first week i had striking.... when i saw the loading time of pages with cufon fonts enabled.. and after that the problem you described. So the cure was found very fast then.... disable it and turn to fontface and now we have google fonts in the theme. Lightning fast....
I thought everything was functional... However, it turns out either I'm not activating the Google font support correctly within Striking, or they aren't working at all. However, if I use the WP Google fonts plugin, the fonts correctly in both Firefox and Safari. Is there something I should adjust in Striking, or should I resort to using the extra plugin?
Yes, fontface & cufon fonts are enabled. All that I'm seeing on my end is the font become a serif-based font (times-ish). However, the font "Yanone Kaffeesatz" (http://www.google.com/webfonts/specimen/Yanone+Kaffeesatz) was chosen for testing purposes, and it is a san-serif. I sent you a PM with login details. Thank you.
However, does "Yanone" look like it's supposed to on your machine? It's supposed to look similar to "Acme". On my computer, "Yanone" incorrectly displays as "Times". Perhaps that's where the issue is - Yanone isn't displaying correctly? Is this an issue with Google fonts, Striking, or my machine?
Just trying to figure out where the issue truly is. Should I just choose a font that displays correctly, or is something actually wrong?
Thanks for all your help and clarification on this issue.
ps. I'm having the same issues with: Open Sans Raleway Josefin Sans
For now, I'll stop looking at fonts and work other design aspects and content. I'll wait to hear your response before I resort to using the WP Google Fonts plugin. Thank you.
I am aware of the google fonts matter, and we will work on addressing it shortly.
As for Cufon, when Striking was released, Cufon was all the rage, Font Face was brand new, and Google fonts but an idea just emerging. But Cufon, while very nice in some respects, has had increasing problems with rendering in today's web environment, and so we do suggest that users should not hesitate to consider alternatives.
Thank you for the response. At this time I will use the WP Google Fonts plugin for typeface variation & design (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-google-fonts/). I look forward to Striking seeing an update in the future to properly support these features.
