Upgrading Striking from version 4.0.2 - General Question

    I am trying to upgrade the newest version of Striking which I downloaded from ThemeForest.
    I am currently using version 4.0.2 on Wordpress 3.3.2
    I am using the plugin "Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades" but it doesn´t upgrade the theme just waiting but not upgrading.

    Do I have to upgrade to a lower version first? If so, where can I get previous updates? From ThemeForest it seems I can only download the latest.

    Hi,

    1) make a complete backup of your current install first + sql database. To have a save copy to faal back on in case something goes wrong.
    2) download the theme from themeforest and redo any hardcoding in the sources if you did before.
    3) upload the new version of striking by ftp
    4) update your wordpress
    5) goto the striking advanced settings. turn off timthumb and turn on clear cache... save the settings.
    6) now open your webpage again.

    Ok I will do it this way, I thought it could be done just by updating the theme with the admin panel.

    Hi

    I think you could. But since we have some a long way from version 4.02 until 518 and auto update has been introduced as from version 5.0x You will better do it this way.

    However i think you will have missed 5.1.7.1 so if you get messages from that it needs to be installed although you already have 5.1.8 running you should contact us.

    I did the Striking upgrade following your instructions and everything seems fine. I have now WordPress 3.3.2 and Striking 5.1.8 installed.

    I only have this message in WordPress Themes tab. I don´t know if this is important, Wp and Striking look both ok.

    "Broken Themes

    The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
    Name Description
    wordpress Stylesheet is missing."
