Customizing picture frames for slides shows or gallerys, portfolios, thumbnails
  • I see i have photoshop files i have photoshop. So i would love to be able to drop in a irregular shape as opposed to the rectangle shape or square. could i just save a psd file and import that any suggestion. Also I have a logo that i want to put in the background should i save it as a png, because i want it to be a silhouette so it appears that it is floating. Im new to using wordpress and themes so sorry for all the questions. thanks for your patience.

  • Hi,

You can upload you own background images to the images folder of striking.

In order to get them to work you will have either adjust the current css classes striking uses for the photoframes or make you own classes or div's which deal with this newly backgrounds.

However it will need some skill and knowledge of html and css.

As for the logo you can set a background in the header area and your logo in the logo area or a background with logo in the header area and a completely transparent rectangular image in the logo area. Whatever suits you best.

  • Ok. SO with uploading the image files to the image folder do i have to do i have to reload the theme or is the another location for the image folder on the back office. Also the gray bar like in the demo will i have the ability to put my logo on top of that???? it is a compass. I would like it to lay right on top of that color were the slide show is. Preferably half and half so the compass would be half in the rectangle and half in the grey bar how would i do that. Thanks again for all the feed back..... :)
  • Hi

If you want other picture frames the best thing is to upload them into the themes images folder. But that does not display any frames at all. you will have to write your own css and html code to put them behind images and maybe write your own php code when you want shortcode todo so.

About you grey color.... question.. please put in a picture with arrows and details so we know what page you are looking at and what it is you exactly want. We cannot figure out (at least i can) reading this from above text.

As you know you can adjust anything you like in the header logo area. But you need to dig in and learn css and html if you want special things. We cannnot do that for you simply due to lack of time.

I JUST FOUND AS IM TYPING under background........So guess do i up load to the MEDIA AREA then insert in the header and footer background image. What is the best file format to use. i see you using alot of png and jpg files???

  • Hi webware

Perhaps it is just me confused, but I am not understanding why you are not using the Striking Background Panel image uploader to set background images for the various portions of your page.

You can then easily load a logo as the background. The Striking Background panel has both header and footer background loaders.

As for file format, it accepts both, but you should use whatever has the best image quality, most often this is png.

I hope this is of some assistance.
