What are the steps to create a slide in the home. I do not understand how to select the images to the slide. Can you help me? Is there any tutorial? thanks http://www.masider.com.ar/wordpress/
Hey, what you mean with "set each image as featured image in the slider item" ? Could you link a screenshot of the settings on how to add a slider item? would be helpful.
As there are 2 threads on the same issue, I deleted one.
I am working on the video series for Striking 5.1.8 release as we speak, but have not yet reached the videos for the slideshow.
So a quicky tutorial:
1) Select "Add a new slide" 2) Give the slide a title - this is often missed. 3) Click on the "Upload/Insert" icon to upload an image
a) give it a title - and I would also suggest a caption, at a minimum b) confirm the size, which should be the size of your slider. The default slider size is 960w x 440h. You should confirm that your slide image is that dimension. If not, resize the image to that size prior to loading it, or alternatively, you can edit the image afterwards by going to the image library and utilizing the wp image editing function. But I suggest doing it on your local computer where possible.
Striking has a setting to easily allow changes in slider height. Changing slider width is a matter of being familiar enough with coding in order to make some custom modifications. There are a couple of lengthy threads on changing the width should this be of interest to you.
c) Click on "Use as featured image" to insert the image as the "featured image" of the slide.
4) Then you simply click on the "x" up at the top right of the the image upload screen as you have completed this part of the routine. You will go back to the main wp "Add a slide" panel once the image uploader is closed.
5) Assuming for the moment we are speaking of the Nivo, 3d or accordion sliders, all you need do is look over to the right and select the Slider category you wish to insert the slide into and:
6) Save the slide.
7) you should check your slideshow settings to confirm you have the correct number of slides for display.
Your slides should now display.
If you have any problems with the above, please do not hesitate to post in this thread.
Just switch your slider item to html mode (see slider settings below the slider editor window) and put the video embed code in the text area. You can use the anythingslider to present the video.
Okay...so clearly there are maaaany people searching for an answer to this question here. I have literally spent hours trying to get this to work. I have followed the steps above with no luck. Am I supposed to put a shortcode somewhere? I just want the f?!%$king slider to show up on any page at this point!
This is an old thread, and I am not quite clear on what you are trying to do. Although I do sense you are frustrated, and need some help, which we are glad to provide.
First, I am going to post a link to some videos, one of which walks one through setting up a slider item, setting a slider category, and then putting a slider in the homepage.
I think that will help you well on your way.
After watching it, should you still have some problems, please post a new thread.
Hi James Thanks for doing these video's. Striking has so many features it can be a steep learning curve (an enjoyable one though :D ) Anyhow, do you have anymore or are there some in the pipeline? For me i much prefer video, thanks again. Teebone
Since you are literally starting out, I would suggest in fact that you jump right to downloading the Striking Responsive beta, and switching to it. Although it has even more features! LOL.
When it goes into official release shortly, there will be a much larger video series for it.
But at this moment, what was in that zip is the extent of it.
We are always willing to help with straightforward usage matters and you can post anytime on stuff.
