  • Hi,

    I am desperatly trying to install a wordpress plugin: wordpress-simple-survey, but it is not working on striking theme, apparently because of JavaScript and jQuery issues. What can I do? Would it work with the new Striking version?

    Thank You

  • Hi,

    Does it work by shortcode? If so you try to can put in the shortcode embed by [raw] [/raw] tags?

    Do you have a link?

    Best regards,

  • Thank you for you quick answer! Yes I already tried the [raw] trick withour any success.
    Here is the page: http://easy-socialmedia.com/test-questionnaire-plugin/
    And it works by shortcode: [wp-simple-survey-1]

    Here is what the plugin designers says "A problem people sometimes have with plugins that require jQuery, like WP Simple Survey, is having multiple jQuery and jQuery-UI JavaScript libraries being loaded. Having multiple instances of the same library is a major problem.

    WordPress has a built-in system to prevent this (In fact all Plug-able Web Application Frameworks and CMSs have this), but theme and plugin designers fail to use it due to their lack of understanding of an API/plugin driven system."

    Thanks!!
  • Here is the last update of the plugin conceptor:
    "You have a JS conflict. Firebug says:
    nivoSliderInit.js:5Uncaught ReferenceError: slideShow is not defined
    You should try updating or deactivate whatever plugin/theme that is using Nivo Slider."

    What would be your advice?

    Thanks!
  • Hi,

    My advice would be just to wait until striking 5.1.8 is released because all scripts will be updated if neccessary. If the problem does still occur then, then get back to us on this.

    Striking 5.1.8 will be release soon. I will ask kaptinlin to take a look at this problem before releasing it. However it is a problem with only this plugin and i cannot make any promisses on that.

    Best regards,

  • Ok, well I tried another plugin and it isn't working either! I really hope Kaptinlin will be able to fix this issue. When will the new update be released approximatively? A day, a week or a month?

    Thanxs

    Laurence
  • Ok, I just tried a third plugin which I paid 50 $ and it does'nt work either, so it isn't only one plugin, it is a general problem whenever I add a simple code this type: [code]
    This is a real problem!

    Thank you for your return

    Laurence
  • Hi Iga,

    you can use <code> your text </code> to insert text.

    I have send Kaptinlin a email to take at look at your problem before releasing 5.1.8 and see if we can fix this.

  • Hi,

    I tried the trick, not working either... a little better but still...

    Here is the answer of the last plugin conceptor I tried when I told him about the problem. This might help you understand what is wrong:

    " What are these tags in my script here??

    var qArr = question_ids.split(',');
    var url = "http://easy-socialmedia.com/wp-content/plugins/watupro/show_exam.php";
    var siteURL="";
    Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <<br />

    There is nothing like this in my plugin code! You can open views/show_exam.php and see there are no tags. If your theme is doing something to the javascript or you have edited the file yourself, please remove these tags or contact your theme author to fix their logic. Your theme should not disturb third-party javascripts."

    Tell me if the next release will fix that...

    Thank you
  • Hi,

    The code tags i put in my reply i did because i assumed you wanted to put in some code here on the forum which did show up. It was not ment to solve your problem or adding it into the site.

    I have asked kaptinlin to take a look at your problem. We get back to you on this.

    Best regards, BackuPs
  • Hi,

    Maybe you try disable all other plugins.

    Regards,
    KaptinLin
