addthis plugin problem
  • Hi, the addthis plugin is not working correctly on Striking. It displays super weird. I have searched for similiar issue on the forum and found a guy with the same problem on feb 2011. The answer was you were going to correct the problem.

Since it is not working, I would like to insert the addthis code myself. Could you please help me locate the blog pages and single page files?

  • Hello, I could correctly insert the code on Single.php and the plugin is showing up nice on posts.

Could you please help me locate the file to insert the code, so the plugin is going to show up com the posts of the main blog and home pages??
  • Can you be more precise. Where should the code be inserted? in the head section?

can you put in the code here so i have a idea what we are talking about? enclose the code in code tags so it will show.

normal i would put the code in the header.php and active by the is_home and is_single and is_page(pagenumber) functions call.

this way it only is there on the required pages.

    Best regards,

  • did you try the template_blog.php and the home.php?
  • Yeap... Maybe I am inserting the code on the wrong place.

My homepage is setup with a Striking blog shortcode. Is template_blog.php that controls that shortcode?
  • No i do not think so.. because it is done by shortcode there is a shortcode processor dealing with this and inserting it in the page.php, template_left, right sidebar etc. i dont know really the answer. because i dont know the settings of the page etc. etc.

  • Would suggest another plug in or other solution, so my blog would display social share on posts?
  • Ok, I managed to get things working with another plugin: Tweet, Like, Share and Google +1 Option Page. However, there is something weird, that was happening with every social plugin I tried. The plugins loads correctly on posts, but it is also showing at the end of the page...

How can I get rid of that?

  • I guess you have enabled display full post? So either disable display full post feature in the blog index page or use sexybookmarks plugin. this one has features to turn the group of icons off on a page id bases.

i did never use sexybookmarks with striking but i guess it will work.

or maybe somebody else has a advice for a good plugin.
