Blog Description Word Length

    How can we adjust or customize the number of characters in a blog description (using the widget)? I looked at the widget and over-all Striking settings and didn't note it.

    My apologies--I meant shortcode, not widget. I'm up to speed with the widget options (sorry for the trouble; the widget is well thought out and easy to use). But I want to use the shortcode option on a page and hope to manage the description length.

    I think i do not understand your question, Which shortcode widget do you mean. Because when i look at the shortcode for the recent post widget or popular post widget the both also have what you ask for.

    or do you mean the blog shortcode it self to create a index page? But then again that's no widget. So it is rather confusing.

    Ahh--I see the issue now. I was using the primary "Insert Blog" shortcode" vs "Insert Recent Posts" widget shortcode. I liked the option to use columns but having control over the length of the description is key too. I guess my best option (less a solution I'm not seeing) is to create a three-column layout then insert a the "Recent Posts" shortcode in each column. Perhaps this is one for the wish-list: The ability to use and control columns via the "Insert Recent Posts" short code
