Ive currently got a problem for www.aalborgkarneval.dk it simply wont display the slider contents, ive tried using Clear cache ON and enabling and disabling "Use Timthumb", disabled all plugins and tested it again, deleted the slider items and i even started whole website over with a clean WP install, but nothing helped.
if turning timthumb off and clear cache does not work.... you can turn timthumb on again. If that also not work it is most likely a permission problem.
Did you check the permission settings of the cache folder? See the thread on this please.
I checked timthumb and it worked without problems, then tried following the guide without luck, everything was set with CHMOD afterwards and i talked with my provider and they told it was what they used to change it. But it didnt work either, if you have any other suggestions, feel free, all help is welcome and just tell me if you need anything specific
I went to the site, and I do not see a slider, although I believe this is as you have worked your site design around the issue. I am sorry you are having it.
We are right in the midst of work on the next release. I will speak with Paul about your site, as I think he has your logins. I would actually need your ftp to examine the issue in detail. But i have to say off the top of my head I am puzzled.
I will ask Lin what if anything he did about this. If it is already resolved, please ignore. We are all so busy on Striking design, coding and support, sometimes we get our paths crossed. We are all in diff time zones (right now I am the only one awake) so it is not always easy to confirm status even with our tracking tools.
No, not using the minify plugin however, you gave me an idea I de-activated use Google Libraries plugin thinking that one might be the cause of the problem. But, no still not resolved. Any other ideas?
Had the slider working correctly however, sometime yesterday the slider disappeared. Thinking it was a permalink problem checked set as %postname% np there cleared cache after making sure settings were correct still no slider. Checked permissions server side all was fine there nothing had been altered. Tried de-activation of the wp-seo plugin thinking that was the culprit but no - luck
I am sending you my admin login, ftp details in an email. If you could be so kind to take a minute to check if I missed something.
I looked at you website. Please turn off all plugins !!!
I believe one of them wrecked your theme. I cannot select any page in the striking home page settings in the first field to be your static home page.
I turned the static home page off in the wp reading settings and used the striking homepage area. Its working for now. But it is not like it should !!!
However either your wordpress is corrupt or a plugin is bugging you. You have many plugins running. One them must be causing this.
Their must have been changed (updated) anything because this does not occur by its selves out of the blue.
when i try to insert a static home page into the striking home page settings i get a search glass instead of a list of availiable pages.
@backuPs Thank you for taking the time to look into this .... Since today is working day I cannot shut down all the plugins however, tomorrow I certainly will as the site will be quite :)
As soon as I find the offending plugin I'll report back tomorrow with all my findings. I never realized the work around thanks for getting the slideshow to appear.
@backups All is working fine doing as you suggested then turning them on one at a time resulted in no errors. I do not know which plugin was causing the trouble but it was defiantly a plugin problem. Thanks again
I am closing this thread. Just for all users note, each user should post their own thread, and definitely not resurrect an older thread. Nor should they muddle a thread with multiple issues. one issue per thread. makes it simple for both us, the user, and any other readers.
And just a note for everyone. The sliders work 100% of the time when the it is Striking and WP 3.4.1. They always work with wpml, yoast, both of which we support. And askimet, and major contact forms.
Beyond that, sliders stop working only if you have done something. So examine what you did. Keep track of what you do, every step of the way. Website do not work on the basis of "I went to bed and next morning i found the sliders were no longer working!" LOL> they only stop working if you, or your host, has done something. It could be you upgraded something, added a new plugin, or something else.
Truthfully, we get so many screams about "help, my slider stopped working" and it always turns out to be something the user did, and it really detracts in a big way from us supporting Striking properly. BE ADVISED in the near future we will commence charging for this type of help. We have lost hundreds of development hours to such matters. Time is money. Its that simple.
