Set Portfolio Featured Image to Display Full Image.

Currently, My set featured image for each portfolio item cuts off the top and bottom of the image.

How can I get it to display the entire image as whole? I found this awesome shortcode that I could integrate into each of my pages of the portfolio to display the entire site, but that doesn't fix the featured image in the portfolio or each portfolio page. Which is what I ideally would like.
What file do I edit to customize the output of the featured portfolio image?
