I am a new user (love the template, btw) and am trying to embed a gallery of photos into a portfolio page.
What do you suggest I do? I thought I'd use a nivo slider and have my images appear on the individual portfolio page that way. My only problem with this way is that 1) I don't know how to add multiple images... do you just add another URL comma separated, or on a new line, or what? and 2) the full images are not shown, they're cropped... I want to make sure people can view the full image proportionately.
For the second question, I will fix it in the next release of striking. Or you can try use timthumb image resize function( go to striking->advance options page to enable it.).
Just to add to what my colleague has indicated - when you create slides, perhaps the first step in fact should be to create a slide category. Then when you create each slide, place it in the category you desire. That way rather then quoting individual urls - you can instead simply select a category you want to display - you will note when you bring up the Nivo slideshow shortcode - the third attribute will be "Slideshow Source (optional) - click in the empty box, and in fact it will bring up a drop down list containing all sorts of goodies, including the slideshow categories you created - you click on the one you want, and that is what will show.
Thanks to both of you. I've enabled them timthumb image resizing. How does this work? Will it resize the images automatically? Because it has been enabled since before I created this anything slider slideshow (http://www.harriscauler.com/portfolio/anthony/). Does it only work with certain sliders?
All of the slider images are in the slider tool and in a specific category. Here's the code for the page:

This was a quick impromptu photo session with my little cousin during the holiday season! I love capturing the candid, innocent smiles of children. On a few of these photos, I created a retro feel that really adds some texture to the photos.
Also, no matter what order I try to sort the portfolio by, Lilly is always the first portfolio. [portfolio column="3" nopaging="true" sortable="true" ajax="true" titleLinkable="true" desc="false" group="false" order="ASC"]
