12 JULY 2014 - UPDATE

1) We have just released Striking 5.3 maintenance update for those still using the "Original" Striking theme. Please see the theme release thread below for details. This update is only available by the internal update function as this theme is deprecated and no longer available for sale.

2)  Next inline in a few days is Striking MultiFlex. This update is actually "in the can" but we are working on ancillary matters. Expect it sometime in the next few days.

Setting different background sizes in the header for diff size monitors
  • What size graphic should I use for a custom header graphic. I have set it up at 960 pixels wide but when the browser is extended to full screen size the left and right margins are white. I would prefer not to tile the image is possible.

  • Hi michael1976,

    I think you can create a image in 1600px width or 1920px width.

  • this will not solve the problem on monitors larger then 27"
  • Yeah,

    Maybe you can try create different size of backgrounds for different screen.

    Then use media query.
    #header {
    background-image: url('1440 width image here');
    }

    @media only screen and (min-width: 1440px) and (max-width: 1599px) {
    #header {
    background-image: url('1600 width image here');
    }
    }

    @media only screen and (min-width: 1600px) and (max-width: 1919px) {
    #header {
    background-image: url('1920 width image here');
    }
    }
    @media only screen and (min-width: 1920px) {
    #header {
    background-image: url('2560 width image here');
    }
    }

    Copy the code to custom code area in striking->general options page.
