I have a png images for the anything slider. The alpha (shadow on the image) is displaying solid instead of transparent in Internet Explorer only. Any suggestions on what I need to do to correct this?
I just went to your site. Very nice site btw. Another for the showcase when it is updated, if that is acceptable to you.
I noticed your comment you made about your slider working fine, in the showcase thread. It kills me that your anything slider is working exactly the way ours worked in testing, but yet some others are having such problems. However, the issue that has been reported seems to be mainly surrounding using self hosted flv video in the anything slider, and we are investigating this, whereas your very beautiful slider is images with sidebars.
I regret I don't understand what you mean by the shadow (I am not a "designer" by trade and so "alpha" does not mean anything to me). I looked at the image shadow in both ie and ff, and to me they looked very similar at first glance.
Thank you for your response, James. You can certainly use the website for the showcase. :) I think I have a unique approach for the anything slider.
I haven't tested the problem on the most recent version of ie. So, it may be a problem on an older version of ie like 7 or later, maybe. I will attach a screenshot that will show what i mean with the shadow. Basically the shadow is not showing up as see through or transparent. It is blocking solid color. Check out the screenshot and you should be able to tell what i mean.
I actually tested it on ie 8 and it has this shadow problem. So, I would say everything from ie 8 and older shows this version. The new ie 9 seems to display it fine.
Hi KaptinLin, Thank you for your response. I can see how that would work on an image that is in the body/content area, but how do I do this on the featured image of a slider without going into the hard code of theme and adding this to the php?
The image is being produced by the timthumb.php right?
I noticed that the image in the slideshow has the class of class="slideimage" in the slideshow.php file. If I added the "ie_png" class properties to the "slideimage" class properties, would that work?
I was hoping to get some more support on this. I checked the javascript file you attached, that didn't seem to work. I added the css code to the DD_belatedPNG.fix{}
.anything_sidebar_image a img
I was hoping this would effect the image in the anything slider.
That didn't work either.
I am puzzled because the alpha transparency for the png buttons/shadows etc. works for all browsers except for a png in the slider itself.
I really think this is important.... could be a deal breaker for me or other customers.
Sorry. I would have tested it earlier but my site was down for a couple of days. I uploaded both files to the js folder. The ie6.js still displays the problem. The anythingSliderInit.js made the anything slider go away, disapeared.
Hello, Sorry to re-open such an old thread, but I'm having an issue with my anythingslider.
In Firefox, Chrome and Safari my png images are showing up with a white background.
I would really like to have a similar effect for my anythingslider that cporter17 has on the cantrell turf sight.
Don't worry, I have no plans on stealing the very unique "floorboard" look, I just want to be able to format my slider with h and ul tags and have transparent images load in.
