Strange bugs have began occurring since I upgraded to Wordpress 3.2. So I tried updating the Striking theme (hadn't updated since I first bought it from themeforest several months ago) to fix it... and it's still broken.
-no slider functionality (items not appearing at all and background is wrong color, even though admin side says it is the correct one) -accordion style dividers on resumé page do not function at all -no hover over icons for image/video/unity links on any pages -no lightbox style pop-ins for images, just straight new page links to images and videos -Thumbnail for my "Daniel Craig Portrait" isn't showing up at all
Don't know if this helps any, but I used Filezilla to overwrite the striking folder in the themes folder and all the items in it. I tried viewing the site in the latest version of Firefox and Safari, both regular and mobile. Nothing is functioning correctly.
Please help me! My site looks amazing using your theme and I'd like to continue using it! :-((
I'm having a similar issue. I recently upgraded my site to WP 3.2 and the latest Striking theme. I have an accordion slider on the main page and it is not functioning. I'm also having issues with the tab short codes not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Forgot to post a link to my site so you can see what's going on. It's http://www.fallorado.com/wp. The main page is supposed to be a 7 section accordion slider. Worked great before the WP 3.2 upgrade.
Well, I did a 100% clean install... meaning nuking my entire site. Luckily I can re-upload all my content and rebuild my pages. I hate that it came to that... but this time my site should be leaner so hopefully it will work better.
Thanks for the quick response. Is the W3 Total Cache plugin not supported with the latest version of WP, or your theme? I deactivated the plugin, but it didn't seem to have any effect. Any suggestions? Do I need to uninstall all plugins and reinstall the theme?
Hey KaptinLin! Thanks for replying. I already had screwed it up from tinkering too much. Ended up just restarting on it. Thanks to your excellent theme, however, it will be very easy for me to remake the site and possibly do it even better.
I'm having similar issues. I deactivated my logo and slider because I needed the site to look okay by tomorrow. But here is what I had messed up:
-logo not showing up -accordion slider frozen, other sliders don't even show up -navigation stopped working, the menus don't drop down -items that should be launching in a lightbox are going straight to links -some plugins were not showing the maps
when this occured, I was using wordpress, 3.1, with striking older striking them
I successfully upgraded to both the latest striking theme and wordpress 3.2.1, didn't solve any problems.
also forgot to mention, that the wordpress menu bar that is normally appearing at the top of the page is a blank white strip, and the items are now in some type of nesting arrangement at the bottom, can only see this issue if you are logged in.
I disabled all the plugins, but that had no effect. I'm kind of at a loss here and would like to get the main functions of the site working again. Can you tell me what Javascript framework/library you were using for the accordion slider? I could probably just do that myself so I can get that portion of the site working again. I've already adjusted other parts of the site so I'm not using as many widgets from your theme.
If you use W3 Total cache it actually re-writes the .htaccess and even if you deactivate it or completely strip it the problem will remain. At first I thought CDN (Content Delivery Network) was the cause but it is definitely W3. It has a clash with Timthumb. I experience the slider is there but no picture. If you click the picture link the picture is in a thumb nail size which I think is held behind the slider. Thus will not appear but a big colored slider box. I had my hosting research it and the CDN support and we all conclude it is a theme issue with W3. The latest update of WP seems to really kill the slider even more. I have made a sacrifice and just turned slider off the slider for now which of course makes the page open a lot faster. With slider on I get a page speed of 89/100 with it off I get 97/100. (http://www.webpagetest.org) If you think you have problems now - turn on CDN. I use Maxcdn.com. However, CDN works like a charm in W3. It takes page speed from 70's and 80;s to 97/100 if you select manual minify and put in the .css and .js yourself. KaptinLin, you will just have to experiment and come up with a fix. I dont know how you will do that but hopefully W3 can update to fix the issue. I have actually run into a problem updating to WP latest 3.2.1 which caused a extra style .css page to create which causes me to lose the theme every time I log in where I have to manually put the new .css style page in the minify and clear page cache or my site will not display theme or skin. (just text and images appear) It looks like this: Just out of the blue this happened when I updated WP
even if you manually take the 2 links and input them manually in the .css minify section of W3 it will not work without the .css cache link and it changes if you log in or do anything all the time on its own - What a pain!
I'm having the same problem with my slider and the featured images for the pages. I upgraded to to the most recent striking version and the most recent WP version. I saw the other thread that said to just disable the featured image - but I like having it and do not want to have to have to fix all the blog posts to correct the issue. Oddly, some seem to be working and others are not. I disabled W3 Total Cache as some suggested but the problem does not seem to be fixed. Please help: http://travels.nicoleandabhay.com
I noticed that as well, but wasn't sure why the Twitter stuff would have been configured wrong since I hadn't changed any of it since before the upgrade to 3.2. Not sure exactly what caused that. That did indeed fix my issues though. The accordion slider and twitter feed are working again. Thanks for the help.
The slider function works - but the pictures are not displaying properly. Some of them are missing and have the little broken symbol where the picture is suppose to be. Also, for the featured images on each blog post - the thumbnails appear but if you click on the post itself - a lot of them (the most recent ones) are not displaying.
That did the trick! Thanks! It is odd because those size pictures were fine before the upgrade. I appreciate all your help and I'm glad it is such an easy fix.
