I am trying to do something simple, but I can't figure out how to do it. Maybe, with all the complicated tasks on your plate, you want to take a break and take on something easy!

I have all of our products/services (which happen to be tours) entered as portfolio items. I have some portfolio pages that sort the tours randomly (or by page id or whatever). But, we want one portfolio page (the Schedule of Tours) where the tours are listed in chronological order (by departure date). Obviously, this does not correspond to any of the "sort by" options in the portfolio shortcode, but I was wondering how I could manually order them.

Any ideas?

Is it possible to remove or alter the grey lines with gradients that are currently above and below my feature header. I've just installed a masonry gallery on my homepage and the gradient appears above this, but not below it. On my other pages, it is above and below the title of the page.

I am still building our site with Striking, and am doing it in a separate 'Test' location on our server. I have been in the process of adding the existing Blog Posts. The situation is this by way of example:

Original post date when added: May 2, 2013

Date created in Striking: June 10, 2013

I would like to be able for the post to show the original date, as some of the content is relevant to particular dates/periods.

I hope that there may be a way to do this.

I've created a site and setup a custom menu under the Appearance section - dragging and moving pages around etc etc. Then assign said custom menu via the 'striking navigation' drop down.

But when I view the site this menu does not appear as it does under Appearance?

Just wondered am I forgetting to do something else? Is there an issue with the theme or WP.

In the bottom right of the footer you'll see a 3rd party Facebook widget, under that widget I am using the Striking Social widget. I would like to decrease the space between the to widgets, making the bottom of the social icons even with the bottom of the Instagram pictures. Can this be done?

Also, the social icon widget make all links blink when they are hovered over. Any fix or is this or is it a bug? I have two questions about customizing the portfolio pages.

(1) Right now, I am including the "excerpt" field as the item description. It shows up fine as a paragraph of text, but I would like to add a line break and put the basic product details -- like date and price: "April 12 - 21, 2013 | $4,399" -- on a line by itself and formatted (bold or italics or something).

When I try to put the code into the "excerpt" field on a portfolio item, it doesn't show up on the portfolio pages. For example, if I include a line break and , it just shows up like:

"April 12 - 21, 2013 | $4,399 This tour is a wonderful..." {no formatting and on the same line}

(2) Also, I would like to have the one column portfolio (one portfolio item per row), but I would like the WHOLE thumbnail image to be a lot smaller. I know the setting that changes the HEIGHT of the thumbnail, but I can't seem to find a place to change the width. What I am going for is something along the lines of this:

Having one portfolio item is on each row is important (esp. in the travel industry), since we need to be able to present things chronologically.

Sorry about this, but not feeling too great this morning so the brains a bit slow on the uptake - Being new to Striking I have several queries, but so as not to over complicate things I will keep it to one question at a time.

I have 'Googled' the issue, but unless it's there and I missed the solution can someone tell me how I might change the default font on the site/element titles whilst keeping the body text in my chosen font family etc..?

Let me just clarify a little further. I'm a bit of a traditionalist I'm afraid, so I'm looking for something like the titles throughout being in the Times New Roman font family, with the body text being using the Arial font - can that be achieved, if so how?

I await any response with interest.

Can you offer any guidance on how these title and desciptive texts can be edited or specified correctly so that when these pages are shared via Facebook more appropriate text is used, i.e. 'grabbed' by Facebook?
I'm also trying to work out how to specifiy the thumnbail that appears accompanying the above text in the shared links. I believe there is a line of code that needs to be used (as per Facebook's help page) but not sure if this is correct or where it needs to go!

I am having trouble placing two widgets in my header area. One widget works fine, but if I try to add a second icon to the social widget the second icon doesn't appear. For a time, the link would work, but with a broken icon. Now, the link/icon doesn't appear at all.

If I try adding a second social widget, the placement gets stacked: one icon appears above the other.

I've attached pictures of my current widget settings, and of the stacking issue I described.

I'm using Striking (non-responsive) which I bought just this week. I've installed a fresh copy of WordPress, and I've installed striking.zip. I then follow the instructions to import the xml file into WordPress and include the attached files. It takes quite a while, as I guess it should, but I get a huge list of errors, beginning with:

Failed to import Media “ajari_3420890929”
Failed to import Media “ajari_3871431450”
Failed to import Media “ajari_2521657021”
Failed to import Media “xjrlokix_2542767294”

...and going on and on. When the import is done, I follow the other instruction to import the options from the text file, which is fine. I then assign the menus, although they're empty.

All the pages and posts seem to be on the site, but they don't appear through the front end. The menus are empty. The homepage slider has no content.

Have I done something wrong, or should I do something differently? Please help.

I have tried adding

to get rid of the white space at the top of the header and there is also the white space below the slider, see screenshot.

I have uploaded a bg image for the navigation but cant be using the right css selector to add a background image to the navigation or I am missing something somewhere.

I need 4 columns that displays a thumbnail and clicking the thumbnail opens the video.

How should I add a video to my portfolio ?

I go to add new, set a title, select a category, add a featured image and then ?

In Portfolio General Setup if I select video as portfolio type nothing happens, I see that Portfolio Type: Video getsd highlighted, but clicking there shows nothing, just a grey box.

Another problem I have is that when I add a porftolio item, the text is in white, I mean that anything I write in the content is not seen until I select the text and discover its there, but white.

For calling the portfolio in my page I am using this:

What can be wrong here ?

I use WP 3.5.1 with Striking 5.1.9.6 with Child 1.0 (activate).
i wish activate comments only on specific pages in my protected area via s2Member.

I've change the page attribute of my specific page from page to page with comments. Enable in settings that only register members can post comments. But I dont see any comments area on my protected page, but on the normal page yes.

Is that an issue with striking, protected member or s2Member?

I just finished this site. Yesterday all the Trip Advisor widgets were showing correctly in the sidebar and the footer.Today just the text and no images. Any ideas what is causing this?
When the hosting company transferred the site to the root directory,they screwed things up for me and I had to fix, but the widgets were showing and not now
