I've been playing with the NextGen Gallery Stylesheet, but cannot eliminate the extra top margin space - that was not an issue with previous Striking theme versions.

For example, look at the right side column and the top margin spacing above the thumbnails.

Hi,

This isnt really a question based on the striking theme, i just dont know where else to get an answer, and you guys have been a great help over the years.

I am using the Royalslider plugin for my slideshows. When i insert the html into the page it looks like this [royalslider id="40"]. I would love to have a different slideshow play each time the page is loaded. At random. I want to select about 4 different options. Is there a way to do this. Every time i try a search on google it is coming up for a completely different topic.

The build in WP editor sucks. No questions about that. I usually use CKEditor and I have noticed that the Insert Shortcode button is not displayed when the CKEditor is activated. Can you fix it or tell if there's a quick fix I could apply by myself?

Hey guys - Featured images won't load on my site for some reason, they just keep trying to load. I check the timthumb setting is OFF and cleared cache is ON and saved it as suggested in a few threads but still same problem. Can you take a look? Would love some suggestions, it's driving me crazy.

Wordpress Menu "Striking Navigation" menu choice not remembered - WPML

Hello today I installed WPML and found out it works very well with your Striking theme. However there is one issue that I cannot seem to fix. I go to the standard Wordpress - Appearance - Menus page. I can choose between the languages I created in WPML. For each language I have to build a separate menu and then I can assign it to the Striking Navigation drop down (Theme Locations). Whenever I press "Save" (I also tried "Save Menu" on the right), the new menu is in use on the website. But it is in use on all versions of the website. When I go back to the Menu Admin and choose another language, assign the menu to Striking Navigation and Save again, then that menu is in use on the whole website. When I go to a language that I've already changed, the choice in the dropdown menu Striking Navigation is empty again. Is there any reason why this happens?

Slider not working with plugins

Hi there - When I enable ubermenu or nextgen gallery my slider stops working on my homepage, and my thumbnails are not generated, it just spins. At first I thought it was a compatibility issue with nextgen, but when ubermenu showed the exact same behavior, I have to believe that it's something else at this point.

You can see the problem here: www.jesse-estes.com. It seems something is interfering with whatever renders the slider and the thumbnails.

I installed a plugin called "auto post thumbnail". This plugin says it "...generates featured image as per WordPress standards." Could this have messed things up?

I have tried manually deleting the featured images and then reinstalling them, but this doesn't work.

Hello, I installed the plugin woocommerce v. 2,010 striking theme in the latest version, the plugin has several pages (cart, accounts, etc ...) that are displayed all in my main menu, increasing the width, creandomi a second line of the menu. I tried to create a new custom menu but the theme is not responding, always recharge the menu + all pages of woocommerce, then when I installed the plugin informing me that the theme was not compatible! You say the opposite, striking is compatible? I attach two files that give an idea of what is happening. ?

I have recently updated to WPTouch Pro 3.0 Which is pretty awesome. I noticed some people were asking how to enable the shortcodes in striking for WPTouch. That way, your mobile theme doesn't display all those ugly short codes everywhere. This is for advanced professionals that are familiar with PHP code. You can easily make your website non accessible if this is done the wrong way. Trust me, I know ;)

This must be done manually. You cannot try to include the files via WPTouch Pro's admin settings.

1. Via FTP Locate the striking parent theme shortcodes function folder. Currently you can find this via

/wp-content/themes/striking/framework/shortcodes

Open up the php file that contains the shortcodes you will need to copy and paste. In my case, I really needed the columns.php file. Once open copy all code that is directly underneath the opening php line.

2. Open up WPTouch Pro. You will need to have a copy of a theme (child theme) active. Not a parent theme.

Inside the default folder you will notice a functions.php file. Paste the code in between some other functions. The Image below shows where I chose to copy and paste the code.

Save file and VIOLA! All done :)

Woocommerce update from 2.0.9 to 2.0.10 - Usage

Updated Woocommerce couple days ago to 2.0.10 from 2.0.9 and have been having a couple issues, asking to make sure it's not a theme issue or if anyone else if having the same problems? I have posted on Woocommerces support board with no luck so far, so wanted to narrow down if theme issue or Woocommerce issue.

Basically, Woocommerce was working fine with the Striking Premium theme till I updated from 2.0.9 to 2.0.10, then the issues below started to begin:

First issue:
Just installed new update from 2.0.9 to 2.0.10 via plugins page. After update was made I found that all products have sale icon on them and I can not get rid of it. I never added the sale icon to any products in store.

Second issue:
Also, when the lightbox images are prompted open, it has title text names in them. I noticed some title text names don't even relate to the product, for example, one product is a foam pouch, the title text name changed to OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA, where did that name come from?? I don't even have that product in my store?

I have the latest Wordpress version 3.5.1 and with these plugins installed:

-Contact Form 7
-Really Simple CAPTCHA
-WP Security Scan

I literally just installed Wordpress 2 days ago, this is basically a fresh install of Wordpress. I have done no modifications at all to code.

What I've already tried:
1. "Temporarily switch to TwentyEleven or TwentyTwelve theme and see if the problem goes away. If it does then it's an issue in your theme." Tried, with no change.

Hello all,
In my website all users will be able to create their own portfolios. They have an access to a dashboard with options to add media, publish posts and portfolio items.
At the moment this is the structure I've done.The problem is that I don't know how to eliminate post OR portfolio from user's dashboard.
All plugins around asume that Striking's portfolio is the same as a post. If I block the access to the post section, the portfolio disappears too and reverse.
The thing is that if i allow users to have options to publish portfolios AND posts, they will make my website as a busy fair :)
Do you know how to leave only one option on user's dashboard, please?

WPML - Feature Header for multi-lingual homepages is not showing distinctive language content

Hello,

I just updated my theme to the 5.2 beta version, and it appears as though the homepage feature header is broken for other languages than the primary language (using WPML). After upgrading, now my other language versions show the feature header of the primary language (the one that selects the homepage in the striking homepage options or settings reading options). Any idea why this might be happening? I did a work-around for now putting the sliders and relevant text into the page content itself, but I would like to figure this out to utilize the homepage feature headers again.

I wish to edit the heading on the main WooCommerce product page of my website (http://myplaceinprint.com/shop/). The main heading appears as 'Archives', which i would like to change to read 'Shop'. I would also like to remove the breadcrumb and second 'Shop' title below. I amn't a very technically compitent WP user, coding and file editng are beyond me. IDX Plugin throwing some errors...

I am using a IDX plugin from Wolfnet and there shortcodes are not displaying. I contacted their support and this is what they said....

Please see the comments below from our developers regarding the plugin’s short code.

This site is using a theme (Striking) that we have discovered to have many known issues with being incompatible to third party shortcodes. We will look into this a bit more but given that it is a "Premium" theme that we don't not have access to or support for it is likely we will not be able to resolve the issue. I would suggest the client contact the creator of the theme (http://themeforest.net/user/Kaptinlin) and get support from them.

We tried adding the [raw] tag around our shortcode but it did not resolve the issue. It instead caused the shortcode to not render at all and just display as plain text.

I got question on how to customize CSS for Product page. I am using Woocommerce 2.0.8, and I was able to create default product page that does not look pretty inside the Striking theme. So I am wondering where should I start to change the Product page appearance?

I am also wondering if you have a Product page withing Striking Theme? So far I only found Pricing Plan page that is more tailored towards service providers, while I am looking for pure eCommerce Product page. If not - are you planning to release it anytime soon as it seems essential for online stores?

Pricing Tables Plugin no longer formatting tables properly - Plugin no longer supported by author

I created custom pricing tables using this plugin: CSS Responsive Pricing Tables by Zee Q purchased from Code Canyon. Here are the pages:

Blank space below footer and smiley - Resolved - Jetpack plugin problem

My General Footer Settings indicate both the Sticky and Sub-footers are off. And any time I attempt to turn either or both on, when I click Save Changes, it reverts the new settings back to OFF for both.

I'm not entirely sure if it's the footer or sub-footer I can't edit. But it's the very bottom one with the 2012 copyright I'd like to delete altogether. You'll see the 4-part footer above it I've been able to populate with the usual widgets.

Is there another location with default settings overriding this which is preventing me from omitting this section with copyright and a submenu of various countries listed in a horizontal row? ( I see there is a mysterious smiley face showing immediately below the bottom footer. Is this related to the extra footer?)

Image size questions on WooCommerce Shop page

I would prefer smaller images, but even after changing the parameters in the WooCommerce setting Advanced, I have not been able to get small product images on the shop page. I have tried uploading images at 100x100, 200x200, 300x300 and 400x400. I cannot get consistency on how the images displays. I am now using 300x300 which show okay on the products page and better on the single product page.

So my issues are with the fuzzy, smaller images on the product (shop) page and the fact that I would like those images to be even smaller.

I have gone into the Advanced setting in Striking and changed the name Archive to Products or Product List. But what are all those Archive titles really mean? Did I cause a future problem by changing Archive to Products? I had to do something to remove Archive from the shop page heading.

Gravity Forms plugin - How to get Lightbox to refresh after a form submission

I Have added a gravity form in a lightbox but once it has submitted it does not refresh, how can i get the lightbox to refresh after i submit the gravity form. If i submit and close and then click back onto the lightbox it is still show the confirmation message.

It spaces the gallery out. I've used it with many other themes without any issues.

Can someone help removing the spacing?

I can't seem to get the Janrain Engage shortcodes to work with Striking. They work with several other themes I've tried, but the login buttons simply do not show up with Striking.

Does anyone have an idea why this might be the case, or know if it can be resolved?

Event Espresso Calendar Conflict Issue

Using Striking 5.1.9.6 and WordPress 3.5.1 with Event Espresso 3.1.31.1 and Event Espresso Calendar 2.0.4 the calendar does not show on pages. I have tried numerous themes on my development machine (Avisio, pureVision, u-Design, Twenty eleven and Twenty twelve) and on all of them the calendar displayed properly which leads me to believe there is a theme conflict issue here. My client's production site is http://zhivargolaingconsulting.com.

I sure hope there is a solution to this issue because the client wants the Event Espresso functionality on his website.

Please advise.

I upgraded to the 5.2 beta version of the theme so that the anything slider would work on IE 8 and 10. However, now one of my plugins has stopped functioning, the DMZ Timeline slider plugin. Is there any way to tell what the conflict is or how I would go about fixing it? Can provide WP admin details in a PM if needed.

I'm not sure if this is a plugin or theme issue but the product photo I'm using with Woocommerce and Striking is blurry, despite the fact that it's 300 x 300 px at 72 dpi.

Is there something in the upload process that's making this come out blurry?

Not a major issue but it doesn't look as professional as one would like.

Polylang plugin - separating portfolio and menu items by language

Not sure if this is a 3rd party or striking consideration:

Problem: I can only get either duplicate portfolio items and working sortable menu for each language / or single portfolio item entries, but sortable menu only for one language.

Using Polylang plugin, I have portfolio entries both in spanish and english with respective categories for each language. Thus, the sortable menu works. But then I have duplicate entries for each portfolio item (both Sp and Eng) showing up on spanish or english pages.
So if I remove (Spanish) entries, then the English portfolio item does show on both language pages, but then, as spanish category items are no longer present - the sortable menus dissapear for the spanish pages.

Does that make sense!?

Hi All

Im having issue with Customized Title not showing in Google SERP.

I am currently using YOAST SEO plugin for my site on striking theme.

After entering the details into the field provided by YOAST SEO on my blog page, it seems like the customized title is not showing up in the SERP. Instead, it is showing as "POST TITLE - NEW NAME" in google SERP.

I tried searching for an answer but couldn't find any help.

I've attached image of the issue. I'm using NextGen Gallery Version 1.9.12. I don't know if it makes a difference but I am also using NextGEN Gallery Optimizer. My images do work, but I want to make sure there will be no conflicts in the future.

Also, I'm using a child theme.

This plugin check is provided by the NextGen Gallery Plugin.

Revolution Slider and Striking

Hi Guys,

I'm using the latest version of striking and am trying to add a revolution slider to the featured header. As you can see from http://www.thecraft-studio.com/test-page the slider frame is showing but none of the slides are. Is this a plugin/js conflict or something else? I've tried adding the shortcode surrounded by raw tags but that doesn't appear to do anything. Any ideas appreciated!

Images in 5.2

I just updated to the new 5.2 theme and all of my images (short code-entered) disappeared. When I tried to use the short code again to add the image again, the image path does not appear in the short code - only the alignment. I returned to the 5.1.96 theme and all is well.

Just reporting.

Jetpack Tiled Galleries - do they work with Striking

How do I get the Tiled Galleries option of Jetpack to work with Striking? I have activated it and deactivated other gallery plugins but, despite giving me the option to insert a tiled gallery it just inserts a regular gallery.

I'd like to add a plugin that allow (registered) members to see hidden pages on my website.
Is this possible with the Striking theme? And if so: how can I make this work?
Also I'd like to have the possiblility to retrieve lost passwords by members by sending there mail-adress.
